Te Pā Kahukura

March 30 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm

Mana Tipua and Kahukura Pounamu invite takatāpui and whānau of all ages to an afternoon at Te Ngahere o Kāputahi for whakawhanaungatanga, kaitahi (picnic), and kaupapa Māori activities.

We will have the opportunity to practice raranga, learn more about rongoā, and enjoy poetry in the ngahere.

This is a drug and alcohol free event. Some kai will be provided, but we encourage you to bring something to share, if you are able to.

Te Ngahere o Kāputahi is a regenerating rongoa forest on a public reserve. Kahukura Rongoa are kaitiaki of the site and will assist in hosting us. Access to the event is located near the entry to the reserve. There is a gravel carpark with a short (150m) walk to the event, or an unsealed road down to the event location with parking on grass. Paths on the site are gravel/unsealed and do not provide the smoothest access – however we have plenty of whānau who are able to assist those with limited mobility if required. We will have portaloos on site, however the nearest accessible wharepaku is at the BP on Marshlands Road, a 5 minute drive away.
