World Aids Day
World AIDS Day is an opportunity for people worldwide to unite in the fight against HIV, show their support for people living with HIV and to commemorate those who have died.
The proceeds from the collection are split between the Wellness Fund and the NZ AIDS Foundation (NZAF).
The Wellness Fund was established by the Positive People’s Network which includes Body Positive, Positive Women and INZ, and is administered by Body Positive. The Fund is used to support people living with HIV who are experiencing extreme financial hardship due to the virus. It has been used to pay medical and funeral expensenses in the past.
NZAF is NZ’s leading HIV prevention and support organization. Donations from the collection will go toward prevention, education and support programs. NZAF administers the World AIDS Day street appeal.
